Press & media

Media credentials

We love having media at the Parada del Sol Rodeo, and we want to make it as easy as possible to cover one of Scottsdale’s longest-running traditions. If you’re a photographer, journalist, content creator, or broadcaster interested in covering the event, you’re in the right place.

Media credentials are issued at the discretion of the Rodeo Scottsdale media committee. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, as space in restricted areas is limited. Approved applicants will receive confirmation and credential pickup details via email.

Who can apply

Media credentials are available to working members of the press and content community, including:

  • Photographers
  • Videographers
  • Broadcasters
  • Print & digital press
  • Influencers & creators

Access levels

There are three levels of media access available. You will select your requested level as part of the application. All approvals are at the discretion of the media committee.

Level 1
General event media access

Access to spectator areas throughout the event for general coverage. No PRCA card or dress code required.

Level 2
Arena media access

Access behind the roughstock and timed event fences for approved arena coverage. Official PRCA dress code is required. Alcohol is strictly prohibited in all arena, livestock, and restricted media areas.

Level 3
PRCA arena photographer access

Full arena floor access for approved PRCA card-holding photographers, including the platform behind the bucking chutes. Requires a valid PRCA card and compliance with official PRCA dress code. Alcohol is strictly prohibited in all arena, livestock, and restricted media areas.

Rules & guidelines

All credentialed media are expected to abide by the following. Credentials may be revoked at any time for non-compliance.

  1. All approved media must comply with Rodeo Scottsdale safety guidelines, staff direction, and PRCA regulations at all times.
  2. Media must not obstruct contestants, livestock, officials, staff, or spectators at any point during the event.
  3. Credentials are non-transferable and must be worn and visible at all times while on-site.
  4. Content captured at the event may not be sold or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from Rodeo Scottsdale and the PRCA.
  5. If approved for Level 2 or Level 3 access, official PRCA dress code is required in all restricted arena and livestock areas. Alcohol is strictly prohibited in these areas.
  6. Applicants unfamiliar with PRCA media rules are encouraged to review the Pro Rodeo Media Guide prior to the event.
  7. Rodeo Scottsdale reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials at the discretion of the media committee.
